The media’s myths about feminism, anti-racism, and “political correctness” regularly hide themselves in a deceitful language of “humor” or “freedom” or “new ideas.” But beneath the disguises, they reveal a paranoid and stubborn resistance to social change. Chasing Amy, under all its disguises, is just another illustration of the desire to keep things the way they are.
