In the novel, Things Fall Apart, Chinua Achebe is trying to give an explanation of what it is like to live in an African society. Many people know there is nothing they can do to stop this white man from forming his religion and government in the African culture. Eventually it seems the African’s learned to deal with the fact that the white man is going nowhere and is staying put. The missionaries and the government are too strong for the Umuofia society to retaliate against.
