Civil War from a Northern Perspective

The shot fired that started the Civil War was inevitable because of the South. In our persecutive we feel that the events that transpired before the civil war were unconstitutional, and inequitable. Slavery is immoral and a threat to middle-class families and character. The Missouri Compromise violating the law that drew the line through all the rest of the lands of the Louisiana Purchase, excluding slavery from the north of the parallel of 36º 30', triggered …

…This law suit was a major contributing factor to the firing on our Fort Sumter. All people have inalienable rights and every one deserves their freedom. Isn't that what America is all about? The South teared the Union apart by succeeding the states. It was a very selfish act on their part. The actions of the South were insulting to the Constitution, and their behavior was atrocious to the slaves and to all of mankind.
