Deborah Tannen, in her video Nine to Five, presents the difference in conversational style between men and women in the workplace. …contact and conversation rituals between men and women are accurate. My personal experiences parallel the examples she used in her video, Nine to Five. By not eliminating the flaws in our speech that Tannen points out, formality and sophistication of the business language may decline in the future. Something must be done to level out speech between men and women in the workplace before the differences begin to effect their interactions in a drastic manner.
