There is also perhaps a sense of a naive optimism which could not contemplate the sorts of disasters which were to occur over the next hundred years. This is not a sit-at-home-and-read-because-I’m-bored kind of book. If you’re seriously considering exercising your mind and contemplating what would have happened if this man had been killed at birth, I would recommend this perfectly spectacular piece of propaganda.
