Comparing and Contrasting the Piece “The Birds”

Ever since the middle of the twentieth century many novels and stories have been passed on to the world of cinematography. Some of these films embedded themselves in our minds, equaling or surpassing the written work. Others classified as box-office failures; shaming the director and possibly the author. But, quality aside; with many if not all, of these films each have similarities and differences that compare to those of the original novel or story. An …

…had to be altered, left out, or added to. Another may very well be that some ideas just sound better on paper and can not be adapted. Even the special effects that filmmakers have today can not overcome the human imagination. For whatever reason, it is still safe to say that the piece “The Birds” written by Daphne du Maurier and the film directed by Alfred Hichcock are both very similar and yet very different.
