During the 1920’s, most Americans thought that success and prosperity would go on forever. The average worker was making 50% more money than past generations and most major corporations were making fortunes. Also the stock market was ascending to higher levels than had ever been seen. With the introduction of the installment plan, almost anyone could buy almost anything thing they wanted. Many thought that nothing could go wrong with the nation’s economy. Life seemed happier and easier for many Americans. Would focusing on the present be good for the future?
