The Crucible Many comparisons can be made between unlikely characters in the Crucible. In conclusion, Abigail and Reverend Parris are extremely different than Elizabeth and Reverend Hale. Although both have some similarities they are basically exact opposites. Hale’s and Elizabeth’s religious attitudes are righteous. Abigail’s and Parris’s religious attitudes are not. Basically Abigail and Parris are bad individuals, while Hale and Elizabeth are good people.
