Despite opposition amongst 167 nations across the world, loss of billions of dollars to American Industry, and health issues concerning the people that the embargo was initially set up to protect, the United States maintains its standing on the Cuban Trade Embargo. It must be realized that without a halt to the embargo, the Cuban nation will never achieve the democracy that the embargo was initially set out to promote.
