DBQ- Jacksonian Democrazy

During his presidency in the 1820’s and the 1830’s, Jackson had four main goals. He tried to act as a guardian of the United States Constitution, provide political democracy, protect and promote individual liberty, and provide equality of economic opportunity. …right to liberty and pursuit of happiness. As with all else, the rights of the Individual were only protected for the common man. African Americans had no rights, and neither did the American Indian, as shows the trail of tears. Although the Jacksonian Democrats did provide everyone with an economic opportunity, they were still not good for the country. The Jacksonian Democrats were the saviors of the common man, and the punishers of all else.
