DESERTS Approximately a third of the Earth’s land surface is made up of some kind of desert with very little rainfall and vegetation. There are so many different types of deserts that it is hard to classify them easily. Not only are deserts limited to the Earth, but also they appear on mars and parts of other planets. There is some much information that has been found, yet so much more to discover.
