…of the Mongol empire and when they were invading Europe, was when Europe began to break out of the middle ages stagnation, increase population and create more wealth from their agricultural based economy. Cities were reborn and trade began to reappear. Ultimately it would be the contact with the Middle East through the Crusades and access to the Mongol trade routes that would bring knowledge, art and new goods to Europe to stir their revival.
