Disissions in Life

In both Joyce’s “Eveline” and Hemingway’s “Hills Like White Elephants”, both characters are forced to make a decision the will change their lives completely. They have no one to interact with on a personal or intimate level, which leaves them feeling lonely and uncertain about their decisions in life.
