While I am a strong proponent for women playing men’s roles, doing so for the sake of being ridiculously artsy and nouveau is just plain ridiculous. …if illustrated from a high school history book seemed to waft through not only the set, but the music chosen. The classical music was a good choice, unlike the rest of it pertaining to performance. I spoke briefly about the Metallica piece, and I reiterate: good, but out of place. The design elements of the play were fantastic, but I’m telling you: one can improve upon nothing by adding to it, not complicating it.
