…skin and bones, and as being more inclined to graze quietly in a pasture than chase after bandits, Rocinante completes the ridiculous picture that Don Quixote makes with his armor and his tree-branch lance. Rocinante is, nevertheless, a faithful and trusty horse, and at times he demonstrates signs of life and vigor, such as when he tries to be friendly with a number of mares in a field, for which master and squire pay dearly.
