East India Company and its Impact on Bengal

A new capital city and a new structure of authority in Bengal were direct consequences of British rule. The East India Company had a great impact on Bengal, in terms of trade, education, taxation, and employment. Many new trade sources were opened and Bengal had become one of the most important area's for trade in the East India Company. As a direct consequence of the British rule in India came a new capital city and a new structure of authority.
