Emotional Rescue
It was a rude awakening. It was my eighth grade graduation. As I walked into the auditorium, looking around at all the other families trying to scope out mine, I finally found them. There they were my mother, my grandfather (my poppy) and the empty seat who posed as my father. Fifteen years ago, my family (my mother, father, and I) were living in our cute little yellow house with our white picket fence on
certain players. Some who are the “givers” and the others who are the “takers." My mother and poppy have given me the emotional love and support that I’ve needed in my adolescent years, while daddy dearest, on the other hand, has taken that emotional love from me. All games have to come to an end, and in the end of my game, I had won. I had been emotionally rescued by mom and poppy.
