Equal Funding

Equal Funding Today, universities throughout the country have to face the problem of equality in athletics. Colleges are being forced to re-evaluate the funds that are being distributed to each program. Men and women’s athletic programs are finally being required to be given the same amount of opportunity, meaning money. After all, Title IX, a law passed to which included requirements about equal opportunity in athletics, was passed in 1975 and our country is finally …

…the gender gap that exists and this is a big part of it. Universities throughout our country need to take the necessary steps in order to solve this situation. I hope that in the next ten years we will no longer even discuss this. I know that once this is over we will start to see even better female athletes rise and prove themselves. All we need is a little support and a little opportunity.
