…villagers got 200 acres and the poor farmers got half an acre each. Also there was a rule where everyone built enclosures around their land. (There land was now all together, not in different strips) Because these enclosures had to built, the villagers had to pay towards it. They had to pay a sum of £30 each, a huge amount of money in their time. No poor villagers could afford this and were beside themselves with worry.
