Everyman
Everyman The author of Everyman vividly portrays the foolishness of man, in how he thinks he will escape death. The poem is written to focus on how temporary everything in life really is. It describes the plight of every man as he faces death. Death comes to every man, whether or not he is ready. This poem portrays everyman as a foolish man, who does not even remember death. Everyman is so busy thinking about
the earthly treasures; but to be mindful of the treasures we have in Heaven. When death comes we will be able to face God ONLY through the forgiveness we find in Christ’s blood. As Christians we can face death with hope and victoriously as Paul said “O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?” “But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” (1 Corinthians 15:55,57)
