Evolution of Kino

The Evolution of Kino In John Steinbeck’s novel The Pearl, Kino, the main character, went through a series of complicated changes due to money. He was greatly affected by the hunger for wealth and overall his life is destroyed because of lust and greed. This destruction is symbolized through the many forms that Kino portrays. …he went from a caring father and husband to a raging inhumane creature. In one point of the story Kino declares that the pearl is part of his soul. Due to his lack of human emotion it is best to describe Kino’s evolutions in the form of animals. Overall The Pearl is a caution to those who crave security in wealth and money. The story warns the reader to never “want something too much.”
