Looking back on Depression-era America and it’s two most prominent leaders, it is imperative that neither one be characterized solely as an extreme liberal or extreme conservative. The scrutiny of FDR and Herbert Hoover and their respective attitudes towards political conduct teaches that liberalism and conservatism are akin to the yin and the yang; both exist in and of each other and despite their differences in nature, they still manage, and must coexist in harmony.
