Fidel Castro
Cuban revolutionary and political leader, premier and president of Cuba,Fidel castro, was born August 13, 1927, in MayarÍ on his family’s sugar plantation near Biran, Oriente province, Cuba. His father was the owner of a 23,000-acre plantation. As a youth, Castro worked in the family’s sugar cane fields. He attended two Jesuit institutions, the Colegio Lasalle and the Colegio Dolores, both in Santiago. In 1942 he entered the Colegio Belen, a Jesuit preparatory school in
agreed to remove the missiles. Castro has supported revolutionary movements in various Latin American countries and in Africa and has become a symbol of revolution. Under a new constitution in 1976, he became president of Cuba. He has one son, born in 1949.
