FILM ANALYSIS OF CRY FREEDOM BY TASHA Cry Freedom is a biography featuring political drama and docudrama. It is based on a book, Asking for Trouble, Biko, written by Donald Woods. The movie was set in South Africa and was release November 6, 1987 by Universal Pictures. This drama has a running time of 157 minutes and was given a PG rating by MPAA. The director Richard Attenborough, also known for Ghandi, directed this socially conscious dramatic story
away from the movie. I would recommend Cry Freedom as an educational movie that everyone should see. I think it is important to remember the past so we cannot repeat it in the future. This movie touched me when I first saw it over 10 years ago and it continues to have the same effect on me in the year 2000. I give Cry Freedom **** for it’s story line and the great acting in the movie.
