The book that I chose is Narrative Of the Life of Frederick Douglass, An American Slave by Douglass. Frederick Douglass was born a slave on a plantation in Tuckahoe, about 12 miles from Easton, in Talbot County, Maryland. He did not know who was his real father. He heard some people said that his first master, Captain Anthony was his father. His mother was Harriet Bailey; she was the daughter of Isaac and Betsey Bailey, who
of freedom. Like many of us who want to be independent, after getting what we want, we feel insecure and lonely. Even though he was suffering as a slave he wasn’t alone and was secure with a home and maybe food. Now he was responsible for himself. He had no home, no friends and was risking getting captured again. He trusted no man because he was scared of being a slave in Maryland again.
