Genesis

“You will desire your husband but he will be your master, (3:16 Genesis). The story Genesis discourages the notion of gender balance by portraying women as less than man. In this creation story, God creates the heavens and the earth, everything in between, and Adam (man) from dust. The Lord God allows his creation, Adam, to abide in the Garden of Eden and eat from whatever tree he pleases except from the tree of the knowledge …

…no one forced Adam to eat it either. They are both guilty of eating the fruit, but it is portrayed that Eve is more so (guilty) and is punished that way. In conclusion, this story of creation is can be viewed as both gender balanced and gender imbalanced. However by using practicality and commonsense it is the inevitable conclusion that the female/ woman gender is looked upon, or portrayed as less than that of man.
