Georgia O’Keeffe “Precisionist,” is the term most widely used to describe Georgia O’Keeffe’s work. O’Keeffe’s great clarity in painting is what identifies her well-known paintings of urban architecture, mountains, bones, and flowers. The simple, clear forms in her masterpieces “made her a pioneer of a new modernism in the USA.” Although O’Keeffe used her subject matter representationaly, the “starkly linear quality, the thin, clear coloring, and boldly patterned compositions,”
eye. It reminded me of O’Keeffe’s enlarged flower paintings and the comment she made about making people focus on something’s beauty. At first glance, the viewer may not even realize my painting is an eye. O’Keeffe inspired me attempt her style because she has done so much for the world of art, and I find her paintings to be some of the most beautiful works of art I have ever seen.
