Gilgamesh
In Gilgamesh, the main character, Gilgamesh, is only part human and part god. He believes that he is immune to the many downfalls that humans experience. That is until he loses the only person he has ever cared for, Enkidu. To be human, is to feel pain, to suffer, and to experience loss. Gilgamesh encounters all three of these emotions, and therefore understands what it is to be human. Almost all people have experienced some
a very big loss in his life, he took this extremely hard, and punished himself for what had happened to his friend. I believe that Gilgamesh would never have experienced these human emotions, if it weren’t for Enkidu. Enkidu taught Gilgamesh more than he would ever know, even after Enkidu died, Gilgamesh was still being taught new lessons. Although Enkidu was an animal at heart, he taught Gilgamesh what it was to be human.
