Global Aids Crisis
The Global AIDS Crisis AIDS is a killer. Worldwide, AIDS killed almost 3 million people last year. That’s 8,000 people every day, 333 every hour, and 5 people every minute. Unfortunately that’s not where it ends. The AIDS epidemic is not getting any better, in fact it is killing more and more as each minute passes. Every day some 15,000 new cases of HIV infections occur. That means that every single day 15,000 death sentences are handed out since
before they change the channel. This disease affects everyone and could be avoided. It’s not an airborne virus. It’s a disease that is transmitted through blood and semen. Yet the rates of infection rise every year because we as a society don’t feel that 3 million lives lost every year is worth more than losing a patent on a drug, which could at the very least improve the quality of life for others.
