At the end of the novel, Pip said to Joe and Biddy, “And now, through I know you have already done it in your own kind hearts, prey tell me both, that you forgive me” (484). Even though he knew they had forgiven him, Pip wanted to hear them say it. All Pip wanted was to be forgiven for all that he had caused.
