In “The Great Gatsby”, there were many outward appearances that did not seem to be true. The Buchanans had a deceptive appearance about them and Jordan Baker seemed to be an honest type of woman. With Jay Gatsby and Daisy Buchanan, the attainment of their dream may have been less satisfying than the pursuit of their dream. …she had the chance to be with him permanently, she told him she could not be with him. So I believe her chase to be with him was more fun for her than actually having him again. Two of the deceptive appearances from the book were the Buchanan’s marriage and Jordan Baker’s personality. The pursuits of Jay Gatsby and Daisy for each other were more satisfying than finally having each other once again.
