Greek Hospitality: The Oddysey

As one rolls to a halt at a stop light and catches sight of a rugged-looking vagabond, some immediately turn the other way, as if they never saw the beggar, some might simply glimpse at the man in sympathy but immediately assume that the person will squander the money on alcohol or cigarettes, and there’s also the few exceptions who will pull some extra change, forgotten at the bottom of a purse or consol …

…nations. Although this epic may be centuries of years old, each person who reads this, can still pull many wholesome morals and apply them to anything of today’s society for the better. This universal truth has been echoed throughout the world’s history, for the Bible quotes, “Love your neighbor as yourself.” As the Greeks mastered this, so can our nation, for it is “…one nation, under God, for liberty and justice for all.”
