…dormant. Hamlet is the true actor. He is able to leave his reality and change character in order to play for an audience. However, I do not believe that it is the role as a madman that he was playing. Perhaps, it is the other way around. Perhaps, the noble prince had been the disguise, the false affectation, while Hamlet’s true character only surfaced after he became part of the King’s “unweeded garden.”
