She was still unable to read or write, but her friend, Sarah Bradford, helped publish a biography in 1869 called Scenes from the Life of Harriet Tubman. Queen Victoria awarded her a silver metal in 1897. The epitaph on her gravestone reads, “Servant of God. Well done.”
