How did the Constitution attempt to correct the flaws of the Articles of Confederation

The Constitution has the United States seem like the big mother hen and the other nations as our chickies who we hold dear to us under our wings of protection. By creating the Constitution, it not only strengthened the government but also secured the republic form too much influence by the people.
