Since the dawn of man, science has been filled with controversial advances. For example, breakthroughs in areas such as artificial insemination have caused much controversy in the past. However, time has proven that such advances are truly worthwhile. The same could happen with cloning if only it was widely accepted by Americans. Once they create human stem cells that repair someone with a failing heart or create pancreatic stem cells that cure diabetes, there will be a ‘gold rush’ for better health using this technology. Once a single child or a few children conceived through cloning have been born and people see that they are just normal kids with a special ability to communicate with their older twin/parent, I believe attitudes will change very rapidly.”
