The extensive infrastructure of ABRI though created for the mission of national unity and maintenance of good order though became its own dominating political force. This force intruded beyond the traditional military realm of ABRI into political, economic, religious, and regional affairs in pursuit of power. This grab for power though was either a continued effort for national unity of simply justified as that for more cynical purposes.
