Investing in Russia

Do you think the Western Democracies should invest large sums of money in Russia and other former Soviet Republics? The United States and Russia have gone through very hard times, especially during the Cold War. Before the Cold War, the United States and Russia were allies and even helped each other during the two World Wars. But after WW II, we became suspicious of Russia and other communist countries and they became suspicious of us. …

…invest money in Russia and other former Soviet Republics because they could become future allies. Also, if the United States was ever in need of money, we could look to the other countries that we helped, for help. There is also the possibility of them using the money to build weapons to attack us.
