Jeff and Ham

Jeffersonians and Hamiltonians had differing philosophies on the key issues of the late 18th century. These issues included the political opinions on how to pay off the debt, if the United States should have a bank, how we should deal with the French Revolution, and lastly the question of who should govern the country. …Hamiltonian’s and the Jeffersonian’s political philosophies. The Hamiltonians were the wealthy political party who favored a strong central government, felt that the national debt was a blessing, and did not have much faith in the common man. The Jeffersonians much unlike the Hamiltonians were the poorer group of people. They supported a weak central government, opposed national debt with rigid economy measures, and encouraged states rights and the common mans role in government.
