It tells of the pain that the families suffered during a somewhat “Hitler-like” time. Japanese people were herded up like Jews in Germany, although they were not treated as harsh as the Jews were. This article also relates to today’s society very well. Japanese people (and other minorities) are discriminated against (and stereotypes) still.
