Juan Rulfo

Juan Rulfo was born in Apulco, a small village in the province of Jalisco (Mexico), the 16th of May in 1917. His family was prosperous and owned extensive land in the region. …Mexico). Along with his literary activity, Juan Rulfo worked as a photographer. He traveled around Mexico. The most prolific period was in the years from 1945 to 1955. A collection of his photographs was published in Juan Rulfo: Homenaje nacional (1980). Rulfo lived in Mexico City for most of his life,teaching and advising young people aspiring to be writers at various universities and schools. On January 6, 1986, Juan Rulfo died in Mexico City having published only two books.
