Jupiter
Jupiter is the fifth planet from the Sun and is the largest one in the solar system. It contains more matter than all of the other planets combined and has 28 satellites, eight of which are named moons. Jupiter’s size is more than 11 times that of the Earth and about one tenth that of the sun. Seen in the night sky from Earth, Jupiter is the second brightest planet – after Venus. One year on Jupiter
are similar in composition to Earth and Venus. The last two, Ganymede and Callisto, are similar in composition to Neptune and Uranus. Jupiter is a very special planet to study. Students and scientists alike should study this planet, because of its positive effect on Earth, to further understand the properties of the universe. Without Jupiter, facts about the world around us will never be realized, and we might not even be here to study them.
