The theme of appearance versus reality is a reoccurring one throughout the play of King Lear by William Shakespeare. As Shakespeare demonstrates, nothing is as it seams. There is an evident difference between reality as opposed to appearance. Reality is what is, as opposed to what seams to be. …his wrongs. As Shakespeare demonstrates through his characters, nothing appears as it seams. In writing this essay, I have learned that one should never be fooled by another’s appearance. Given that someone may come into sight a certain way, it does not mean that they are really, what they emerge to be. Most people are two faced, or are just misjudged. As the saying goes, you should never judge a book by its cover.
