Literary Elements in Great Expectations
Literary elements used in a novel can either confuse a reader or cause the reader to have interest in the novel. An author tries to convey his plots through great explanations, which actually cause the reader to feel they are in the situation of the character. These elements can range from allusions to other literary works to the imagery the author uses to describe the settings. In Great Expectations, the author, Charles Dickens, uses imagery,
such detail, or do not use the older English language. Many people in today’s society have not been exposed to the slang used in past societies, therefore, the reader has a harder time understanding the viewpoint the author is trying to convey. Many people, through the help of selected teachers, can understand these novels better because of the detailed descriptions. I believe the novel is easy to understand due to the concise literary elements.
