…Nine hundred bodies were never found. The mood of the American public greatly changed after the sinking of the Lusitania. The Americans felt this was an “act of piracy”. Most people wanted to declare war on Germany and that finally happened in April 1917 after a German sub had sunken three American Cargo ships. People have said that that if the Germans had not torpedoed American ships that America would have never entered World War One.
