Lynx

There are many animals that are threatened. One that is threatened in the Northwest is the lynx. The lynx are animals that are more dependent on another animal for their survival than many other animals out there. The life of lynx depend on snowshoe hares, their main food source. We do not know much about the lynx populations throughout the nation, we can only estimate, but it is low and in danger. Logging, development, snowmobile …

…Agreement to promote the conservation of lynx and lynx habitat on Forest Service lands. The Bureau of Land Management and the National Park Services also are developing lynx conservation agreements. The Forest Service is also undertaking several analyses to amend their forest plants to incorporate direction designed to conserve the lynx.” These are all steps in the right direction for lynx protection. Learning more about the lynx and helping them will make their population grow.
