Male/female:Television Preference of Skiing vs. Snowboarding

Abstract: In our study, our goal was to find out how many men vs. women like to watch Skiing vs. Snowboarding on television. We asked each gender “Would you rather watch skiing or snowboarding on T.V.” We surveyed 49 males and 35 females for a total of 84 persons asked. The chi-square statistic is a number used for evaluating the statistical significance of the difference between observed data and the data that would be expected under a spacific hypothesis. The chi-square statistic is defined as a sum of terms of the form: with one term for for each observed value. Our null hypothesis for this survey is that gender has no affect on what sport you you would rather watch on television.
