Our role models are usually those which whom society has labeled as being powerful, talented, brave or even good looking; people considered worthy of being praised by a mass audience. And as the ideologies of a society …

…an Irish “old maid” of sorts who is the true heroine of this story. She goes about her day-to-day tasks not with a dream of better days to come, but to enjoy all of what life has brought her. Like clay, Maria is a foundation, a basic foundation upon which society builds itself. She understands her role in life, knowing that however insignificant she may seem, she plays a part in holding our society together.
