Over the past decade extensive medical research had been done in an effort to legalize marijuana for medical purposes. There have been a number of attempts in congress for a bill to be passed legalizing this drug. However congress has yet to pass the bills proposed. …proven marijuana has relieved those suffering illnesses, through more research a different drug could be produced for the same effect. The THC in marijuana is what relieves the symptoms, not the entire plant. If a legal drug could be created using just THC, that would be acceptable. This would eliminate the harmful effects of smoking marijuana.
