…is because the second method assumed that the M&M’s all had the same area, while the first method was closer to the amount than the second it was also assuming that the bottom area of the jar was the same as every other layer. Therefore, the third method was the best by far, because it didn’t assume anything but the weight and the weight of different sized M&M’s are negligible.
